Position Description
The Scouting and Events Intern will assist in the daily operations of the Scouting Program including: assigning games, implementing scouting procedures, overseeing the Scouting website, helping run weekly scout meetings and preparing scouting related documents.

General Responsibilities
The Scouting and Events Intern will assist the Customer Relations and Event Manager with the daily operations of the Scouting Program including: game assignments, weekly scouting meetings, Selection Sunday and member relations.  Beyond the scouting program, the Scouting and Events Intern will assist the Events Department in managing aspects of various events, including venue research, budget planning, logistical coordination, and staff and volunteer management for the following events:

  • Team Selection Committee Orientation (Scout School)
  • Scouting Meetings
  • Feast on the 50
  • Florida Blue Florida Classic
  • Florida Citrus Parade
  • Bowl Week Events

The ideal candidate will possess the following credentials:

  • Minimum one (1) previous internship within the sports industry or event hospitality field
  • Academic background in Sport Management, Event or Hospitality Management
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign
  • Strong customer service skills professional demeanor
  • Willingness and ability to lift moderate to heavy objects
  • Self-motivated, team player with high energy and a great attitude
  • Experience in prioritizing a heavy workload and the ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision

This is a seasonal position and runs from Monday, August 1, 2017 – Wednesday, January 3, 2018. The position requires up to twenty hours per week through December 1 with the flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends according to the Florida Citrus Sports event schedule. The position requires the ability to work during the December holiday season. Candidates should be prepared and willing to work full time (forty hours per week) from approximately December 4, 2017 until January 12, 2018. The position will be paid hourly at a rate of $9/hr.
