BCS Standings – 10/16/11

The first Bowl Championship Series standings of the season are released, and that takes us one step closer to Selection Sunday. There’s still half a season to be played, but now bowl projections and possible pairings can be discussed without the Way Too Early prefix. Michigan at Michigan State is the Capital One Bowl Game of the Week

No. 19 Michigan State (4-1, 1-0 Big Ten) looks for its fourth straight win against No. 10 Michigan (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten) in the battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy at Spartan Stadium. For the third straight season, the Wolverines are unbeaten entering the contest. It is the first time since the 1965-67 seasons that Michigan State holds a three game winning streak against their in-state rival.
