Gameday

  • It is a straight shot up the interstate from Pittsburgh to Morgantown, just be aware that many other fans are taking the same interstate.
  • If you are able, spend time with the West Virginia Foundation. They manage a multibillion-dollar fund for the school and work with their athletic teams as well as the hospital, school of medicine, school of law and other philanthropic organizations associated with the school.
  • The West Virginia fans were exceptional. They take great pride in their team as well as their state. They are all very proud people and were very welcoming to their campus and the Moutain State.
  • We were able to spend time with the Athletic Director as well as the President of the West Virginia Foundation.
  • Fans were enthusiastic about WVU, they love Orlando and desire to return.
  • Morgantown is absolutely gorgeous, especially with the changing of the leaves in the fall. Plan a day to see the town and surrounding natural beauty.

Milan Puskar Stadium is located at 900 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505

Directions, road closures, parking maps and more can be found at the official venue website below.

Mountain State Brewing Co.

  • The food was delicious! We ordered lots of food feeding our college son and friends. The flat bread with mashed potatoes on top was such a treat I’m going to try making at home. Nachos were tasty as well as the Buffalo dip. All sandwiches were also delicious. Great beer selection and the service was excellent. –OpenTable

Pies and Pints

  • Love this place! It is on the top of my list for good Morgantown eateries. I haven’t had a meal that I didn’t like here. The pizza is excellent. We’ve enjoyed the Margherita pizza as well as the steak and mushroom pizza. Love the Pork and Pepper Nachos. My daughter loves the Cuban pulled pork.
The wait staff is always accommodating. It is a comfortable and clean restaurant. My 24 year old would like to add that the playlist for the ambiance is superb and at just the right volume to enjoy but still be able talk to others at the table. –Yelp

Scout Tips:

It is a very short walk to the Coopers Rock overlook, best place to see the leaves change color in the hills of WV.

About:

Coopers Rock State Forest is named for Coopers Rock, a series of sandstone cliffs above the Cheat River Gorge. Legend has it that a fugitive hid near what is now the overlook. A cooper by trade, he continued to make and sell barrels from his mountain hideout. During the 1800s the iron industry flourished in the area that is now Coopers Rock. Today the remains of the Henry Clay Furnace – the first steam-powered blast furnace in western Virginia – is a popular hiking and biking destination in the forest. The forest proper was established in 1936. Many of its structures, including the main overlook, picnic shelters and superintendent’s house, were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. Eleven of these structures have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
