Steve Hogan Marks 30 Years of Leadership at Florida Citrus Sports
ORLANDO, Florida — Florida Citrus Sports is proud to recognize Chief Executive Officer Steve Hogan, who this week celebrates 30 years of service to the organization and the Central Florida community.
A Chicago-area native and UCF graduate, Hogan joined the team at FCS on Aug. 3, 1995, and has served as CEO since Aug. 24, 2006, helping transform the not-for-profit organization into a globally respected force in live events, civic engagement and collegiate athletics.
“Steve’s vision has fundamentally reshaped how Orlando shows up on the national stage, helping establish our city as a go-to host for the biggest moments in college football, professional sports and beyond,” said FCS board president Brian Comes, vice president of field operations for Hyatt Hotels. “What truly sets Steve apart is his ability to pair that success with a deep commitment to equity, community and long-term impact.”
Under Hogan’s leadership, FCS has grown its portfolio of marquee college football events — which today includes the Pop-Tarts Bowl, Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, Florida Blue Florida Classic and Camping World Kickoff — cementing Orlando’s place as a premier host for high-profile neutral-site matchups.
Further, Hogan has played a key role in attracting a wide range of notable international bookings to Central Florida, including the NFL Pro Bowl Games, the FIFA Club World Cup and a slate of global soccer showcases through the FC Series — which has hosted iconic clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona in Orlando since FCS joined the event in 2021.

30 YEARS OF SERVICE: Hogan was named CEO of FCS in August 2006 (above) after joining the organization in August 1995.
Additionally, Hogan has been a driving force behind efforts to reimagine and reinvest in the Camping World Stadium campus throughout his entire tenure as CEO, rallying community and political support for the venue’s completion since the project’s initial approval in 2007. He continues to work closely with the City of Orlando and other partners to help realize a long-term vision for the venue — one that positions it as both a global entertainment hub and a year-round economic engine for the surrounding neighborhood.
That commitment to impact is also reflected in Hogan’s role as a co-founder of Lift Orlando, a nationally recognized initiative for place-based neighborhood revitalization. Over the past 10 years, Lift Orlando, FCS and their partners have helped drive more than $120 million in capital investment in affordable housing, education, healthcare access and youth programming in The Communities of West Lakes surrounding the stadium — with more transformative work still on the horizon.
“For three decades, Steve has worked tirelessly to utilize sports as a force for good,” FCS board chair Sharon Line Clary, senior vice president of community impact and partnership engagement for AdventHealth, said. “From securing major events that elevate our city’s national profile to investing in the neighborhoods surrounding the stadium, his leadership has been both bold and deeply personal. The results are all around us — and so is the respect he’s earned across our industry and our community.”
FCS’ 80th Citrus Bowl celebration, presented by AdventHealth, will continue throughout the season, with a full slate of retrospective storytelling, digital features, fan engagement initiatives and special tributes highlighting the game’s most memorable moments and lasting community impact. Additional details will be announced in due course.
