Gameday

  • Arrive early. The Big House fills up fast, and the pregame buzz starts hours before kickoff. Most fans arrive 2–3 hours early to walk campus, hit local spots, or tailgate.

  • Avoid State Street. Which can turn a 5-minute drive into 50 minutes. Use Stadium Boulevard instead.
  • Tailgate like a Wolverine. Parking lots near Pioneer High School and the golf course are tailgating hotspots. Expect everything from grills and cornhole to school bands and impromptu “Go Blue” chants.

  • Take in the march. Follow the Michigan Marching Band as they parade from Revelli Hall to the stadium, stopping to play the fight song in front of thousands of cheering fans.

  • The Big House experience. It’s the largest stadium in America, but it’s known for its unique bowl shape — even from the top, the view is incredible. Stay for the full postgame singing of “The Victors.”

  • Dress in layers. Early-season games can be warm, but November in Ann Arbor gets cold and windy fast. Bring maize gear that’s both stylish and weather-ready.

  • Celebrate downtown. After a Michigan win, Main Street turns into a parade of maize and blue — bars, restaurants, and sidewalks packed with fans singing and celebrating.

Michigan Stadium is located at 1201 S Main St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104

Local Eats

Zingerman’s Delicatessen
An Ann Arbor institution since 1982, Zingerman’s is one of the most famous delis in the country. The sandwiches are massive, the bread is handmade, and the staff greets you like family. A must-stop for any visitor.

The Brown Jug
Named after the famed Michigan–Minnesota trophy, The Brown Jug has been serving students and fans since 1936. The walls are covered in Wolverine memorabilia, and the burgers and beer flow nonstop on gameday weekends.

Frita Batidos
A creative Cuban-inspired burger joint known for its “fritas” (chorizo burgers) and tropical milkshakes. Fun, loud, and full of flavor — just like Ann Arbor itself.

Savas
Located right on State Street, Savas offers upscale American fare in a sleek space. The outdoor patio is prime for brunch or a postgame dinner with friends.

Grizzly Peak Brewing Company
One of Ann Arbor’s best local breweries, serving craft beer, hearty food, and a warm, rustic atmosphere. Try the Steelhead IPA or the Bear Paw Porter.

The Pretzel Bell
A revived Michigan classic that doubles as a sports bar and restaurant. It’s packed with fans on football weekends, and the pregame bell-ringing tradition still lives on.

Union Rec
Great food about a 10-minute walk to the stadium.
