Visitors are welcomed to step away from the hustle and visit this lakeside chapel. The chapel is still used for masses, but is regularly used for guests to sit and reflect. This chapel is replica of the one that was built in 1831, that was destroyed by a fire.

A more somber option for visitors of the University of Notre Dame is the Clarke Memorial Fountain, or nicknamed “Stonehenge”. This is a memorial dedicated to the graduates of Notre Dame who gave their lives in service to our country. Specifically honoring those who lost their lives in World War Two, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The complex architecture of the fountain has rich symbolic meaning.
