Dates set for 2023-24 Orlando bowl slate
Game dates and kickoff times for Orlando’s Pop-Tarts Bowl and Cheez-It Citrus Bowl games were announced Wednesday as part of ESPN’s 2023-24 college football schedule release.
Pop-Tarts®, the iconic brand known for mixing flavor and fun to create indulgent snacks for any occasion, announced its next Crazy Good takeover with the Pop-Tarts Bowl at Camping World Stadium this December.
The Pop-Tarts Bowl, formerly known as the Cheez-It Bowl, featuring top teams from the Atlantic Coast and Big 12 Conferences, will take place on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 5:45 p.m. ET, broadcast live on ESPN. This year’s Pop-Tarts Bowl will be the 34th edition of the game but the first time Pop-Tarts has sponsored an NCAA college football bowl.
The 2022 bowl game, a 35-32 Florida State victory over Oklahoma, drew an announced crowd of 61,520 and boasted a total live audience of 5.4 million viewers, making it last year’s second-most-watched postseason game outside of the New Year’s Six.
The 2024 Citrus Bowl will kick off at 1 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 1, at Camping World Stadium, marking the game’s return to its traditional New Year’s Day window. The matchup will pit the Big Ten Conference against the Southeastern Conference and be televised on ABC.
In last season’s Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, No. 16 LSU defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 63-7 in record-breaking fashion. The Tigers set Citrus Bowl records for points scored (63), total yards (594), and margin of victory (56).
Tickets to both games are available exclusively through Florida Citrus Sports now and will go on sale to the public after teams are selected on Sunday, Dec. 3.
