Feast on the 50 Auction Goes Mobile For First Time, Will Accept Bids Exclusively Through Handbid Smartphone App

In 2017, for the first time ever, the silent auction at Feast on the 50 presented by TD Bank is going mobile, allowing participants both at Camping World Stadium and around the world to bid on a host of incredible items with proceeds from the event benefiting the Florida Citrus Sports Foundation’s middle school summer camp.

The auction, which features more than 200 one-of-a-kind lots ranging from signed memorabilia and dinner packages to concert tickets and field passes for the Citrus Bowl and Camping World Bowl, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, exclusively using Handbid, an online platform that allows users to bid from their smartphones.

This year, for the first time, Florida Citrus Sports will use the Handbid app for its silent auction at Feast on the 50, replacing the pen-and-paper auctions of the past.

Whether you’re in the stadium, at home or on the go, using Handbid is simple:

First, iPhone and Android users should visit the iTunes App Store or the Google Play store to download the free Handbid app. Once the app is opened, tap “GET STARTED” on the home screen, then follow the instructions to create and verify your account. (Be sure to use your cell phone as the phone number!)

Once you’re logged in, select “2017 Florida Citrus Sports Feast on the 50 presented by TD Bank” from the list of available auctions, and you’re ready to start bidding. The auction opens Thursday and closes before the spectacular 8 p.m. fireworks show, so be sure to turn notifications on so you know if you’ve been outbid.

Still need help? Find a Florida Citrus Sports volunteer at the Silent Auction tent. We’ll have iPads on hand and can help you get set up. And if you’re coming to Feast on the 50 and are worried about connectivity while you enjoy the event, fear not: Camping World Stadium offers public, full-bowl WiFi, so you’ll always be online.

Don’t have a smartphone? We’ve got you covered too. Users can also access the auction through a web browser by clicking here or visiting auction.feastonthe50.com.

Since 1947, Florida Citrus Sports and the Florida Citrus Sports Foundation have been committed to helping the economically disadvantaged in our community.

For over 20 years, the Foundation has offered qualifying families an eight-week summer camp program focusing on academics, athletics, attitude and achievement — with more than 90 percent of attendees coming from the West Lakes neighborhoods, in the shadow of Camping World Stadium.

In 2016, the Florida Citrus Sports MVPs Summer Camp program evolved into MVP Families, a year-round engagement initiative with LIFT Orlando and the Polis Institute that unites children, parents and educators to prepare the younger generation for future success.
