Florida Citrus Sports Announces Staff Promotions For 2022

Florida Citrus Sports announced a series of promotions and title changes as it prepares for the 2022 season.

“Each of these individuals has made significant contributions to Florida Citrus Sports,” said CEO Steve Hogan. “It is an exciting time to be here, and I am looking forward to what we will do together.”

Below are details on the staff changes:

Matt Repchak – Chief Marketing Officer

Matt joined Florida Citrus Sports in 2005 and begins his 18th season in 2022. He previously served as Senior Director of Marketing & Communications since 2013. He will continue to lead the Integrated Marketing & communications (IMC) department, including the nonprofit’s public relations, advertising, creative production, digital and social media.

A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Matt began his career with FCS as a seasonal Communications Assistant and advanced through the organization with various roles in the Communications and Marketing departments before stepping into a leadership position at their intersection.

Joe Andrade – Senior Vice President of Membership & Ticket Sales

Joe joined Florida Citrus Sports in 2019 and begins his fourth season in 2022. As Senior Vice President of Membership and Ticket Sales, he oversees strategy, training and development for all ticket sales initiatives, including the organization’s cornerstone membership program.

The UMass graduate joined FCS with over two decades of experience in retail sports ticket sales, most recently with the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets. His career includes stops in the NBA (Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, New Orleans Hornets) and MLB (Tampa Bay Rays).

Susan Fortini – Senior Vice President of Operations

Susan started her second stint with Florida Citrus Sports in 2017 after serving as director of marketing from 1994 to 1997. She begins her ninth season overall in 2022. As Senior Vice President of Operations, she plans and executes participant logistics and hospitality for the organization’s signature events. In addition, she guided the renovation of the FCS offices in 2019 and oversees management of The Varsity Club.

Before joining the staff, Susan was an active volunteer and member of the FCS board of directors. She previously spent a decade as a FASTSIGNS franchise owner, where she set new sales records and eventually mentored new owners and franchisees. A graduate of both Florida State University and Florida Institute of Technology, she recently completed two terms on the Edgewood City Council.

Gabe Park – Senior Vice President of Business Development

Gabe joined Florida Citrus Sports in 2015 and begins his eighth season in 2022. As Senior Vice President of Business Development, he oversees the corporate sponsorship program for FCS, its signature events and its home venue. He helped negotiate and launch the naming rights partnership with Camping World Stadium and secure major stadium sponsors.

Gabe came to FCS from the Florida Gators, where he was Associate General Manager on the IMG Sports Marketing team. The Michigan State graduate began his career at the Orlando Magic.

Brian Crews – Senior Director of Business Development

Brian joined Florida Citrus Sports in 2008 and begins his 15th bowl season in 2022. As Senior Director of Business Development, he develops partnerships for the Florida Blue Florida Classic while also working with the sales team on membership and premium seating products.

Brian came to FCS from the International Speedway Corporation in Daytona Beach. He graduated from Florida State, where he served as a manager for Bobby Bowden’s football team. Brian got his start in the sports industry as a ticket manager at UCF while also working for the Orlando Magic on game days. After getting hired full-time, he would spend 17 years in the Magic organization.

Sam Gardner – Senior Director of Marketing & Communications

Sam joined Florida Citrus Sports in 2017 and begins his sixth season in 2022. As Senior Director of Marketing & Communications, he oversees media and public relations, creative production and community engagement for the organization.

A graduate of Boone HS and UCF, Sam joined FCS after a successful career in sports journalism, including stops at the Orlando Sentinel and Fox Sports. His coverage has included a bucket list of major sports events, including the NBA Finals, the Stanley Cup, Wrestlemania and the Triple Crown.

Stephanie Marrone – Senior Director of Customer Relations

Stephanie joined the Florida Citrus Sports staff full time in 2011 after serving in a seasonal role in both 2009 and 2010. She begins her 14th bowl season in 2022. Her FCS career has included event management and account service initiatives, including oversight of the team selection committee program. Now as Senior Director, she leads the organization’s customer relationship management (CRM) team.

A graduate of both Rollins College and the University of Georgia, Stephanie leads the organization’s roll-out of new customer management platforms and contributes to membership retention and renewal strategies.

Carlyn Tribble – Senior Director of Events

Carlyn returned to Florida Citrus Sports in 2016 after serving in a seasonal position in 2010. She begins her eighth bowl season in 2022. As Senior Director of Events, she manages the organization’s major public events, including programs for signature, membership and fundraising events.

Prior to her return to FCS, Carlyn spent time at Wyndham Destinations as part of a newly-formed Corporate Events team. Before that, she coordinated events and team operations for the Orange Bowl in Miami, including the 2013 BCS National Championship Game. She is a Florida Gator with almost 15 years of experience in event planning and management.

Mickey Boylan – Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications

Mickey joined Florida Citrus Sports full-time in 2016 after serving in a seasonal role in 2014. He begins his eighth bowl season in 2022. As Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications, he oversees the organization’s email marketing and digital media efforts, including a stable of a half-dozen websites and more than two dozen social media accounts.

Mickey attended Penn State University, and his career included stops at his alma mater and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Prior to rejoining FCS, he spent two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.

Greg Santon – Assistant Director of Ticket Operations

Greg joined Florida Citrus Sports in 2020 after serving in a seasonal role in both 2018 and 2019. He begins his fifth season in 2022. As Assistant Director of Ticket Operations, he contributes to the organization’s ticket services and account management, including support of the retail sales and CRM programs.

A graduate of UCF and Florida State, Greg’s professional experience includes game day ticketing roles for Orlando City SC and the Orlando Pride.

Nick Stepp – Assistant Director of Finance

Nick joined Florida Citrus Sports in 2016 after previously serving in a seasonal role in 2015. He begins his eighth bowl season in 2022. As Assistant Director of Finance, he manages the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, prepares annual budgets, facilitates annual audits, and performs payroll and employee onboarding functions.

Nick is a graduate of UCF and lifelong resident of Central Florida.

Colleen Thomas – Manager of Customer Relations

Colleen joined Florida Citrus Sports in 2016 and begins her seventh bowl season in 2022. Now as Manager of Customer Relations, she leads the organization’s popular team selection committee membership program, including the logistics of the weekly meetings throughout the fall.

A graduate of Valencia College and Florida State, Colleen previously spent time in account service roles for both the Seminoles and Orlando City SC.

 

In addition to the above changes, Florida Citrus Sports announced that seasonal events assistants Crystal Jackson and Tara Staley will return for a second season in 2022.
