2023-24 LEADERSHIP UPDATE: Castino Begins Term as President, Dougherty Moves to Chairman
As Florida Citrus Sports kicked off its 2023-24 season on April 1, Steve Castino, Chief Growth Officer for Rehmann, officially took over as the organization’s 46th president, while outgoing president Ed Dougherty of Massey Services began his one-year term as chairman.
Castino will lead the day-to-day activities of the organization’s board of directors. In his role with Rehmann, Castino oversees all growth-related efforts for the firm. This includes merger and acquisition strategy, forecasting growth as part of their budgeting process, and sales plans and goals. The Rollins College graduate also ensures marketing efforts, communications, and client experience are aligned to continue growing our brand in current and new markets. A devoted community leader, Castino also serves as the finance chair for the Association for Corporate Growth and on the board of directors for Dr. Phillips, Inc. and the Dr. P. Phillips Foundation, Central Florida’s largest grant-making organization. He is also a founding director of One Florida Bank, the largest community bank in Central Florida.
As chairman, Dougherty will continue his role on the board’s executive committee and also oversee Florida Citrus Sports’ team selection committee. The Eastern Michigan graduate served on the organization’s associate board and elected board before joining the executive committee in 2016. The current Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Massey Services oversees all residential and commercial business operations in all nine states the company currently services. Dougherty maintains a strong role within the community, with involvement in Junior Achievement, Leadership Orlando and the American Heart Association.
Paul Mears III has completed his term as chairman but will remain a part of Florida Citrus Sports’ executive committee for two more years. Sharon Line-Clary, Vice President of Strategic Marketing & Communications for AdventHealth, has been named president-elect and will begin her term in April of 2024. Line-Clary previously served as Treasurer on the executive committee.
Additionally, Eric Marshall of Universal Parks & Resorts has moved from the elected board to join the board’s executive committee as Vice President.
