FCSports Announces Partnership with Buffalo Wild Wings for New Year’s Day Bowl Game

 The 2015 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl will air live on ABC on New Year’s Day at 1:00 p.m. (ET) in the new Orlando Citrus Bowl stadium.  The game is in its first year of a new cycle, pitting top non-College Football Playoff teams from the Big Ten (or Atlantic Coast) conference against a top non-CFP Southeastern Conference team.

“We are honored to add Buffalo Wild Wings as a title sponsor and business partner,” said Steve Hogan, chief executive officer of Florida Citrus Sports.  “Buffalo Wild Wings is deeply connected to college football and the fan experience, and they’ve already shown that with their interest in returning to our traditional Citrus Bowl name. We’re fortunate to begin an exciting new era for Orlando’s New Year’s Day game with a partner who loves the game as much as we do.”

This year’s Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl marks the 69th year of the game, the seventh-oldest of all current college bowl games, but the first in the new Orlando Citrus Bowl stadium. The game has been held on New Year’s Day since 1987 and has consistently been one of the top-performing games each year in television ratings. In the last 20 years, the game has posted a robust 7.2 rating, including a 6.6 in 2014.

In addition, Buffalo Wild Wings’ GameBreak™, will feature an interactive game-day Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl promotion for fans watching the game at any one of the 1,043 restaurants throughout the country.  “This sponsorship is another unique way to connect with our guests – creating the ultimate social experience for our sports fans – and allowing the fans not at the game to be a part of the action as well,” added Ruhland.
