Florida Citrus Sports Announces Retirement of Operations SVP Susan Fortini
ORLANDO, Florida — Florida Citrus Sports today announced the retirement of Susan Fortini, Senior Vice President of Operations, effective May 3. Over the past eight years, Fortini played an integral role in shaping the organization’s operational strategies and ensuring a seamless experience for participants and VIPs at major stadium events.
“Susan has been a cornerstone of Florida Citrus Sports across multiple tenures, and her contributions have been invaluable to our success,” said Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports. “Her leadership, professionalism and passion for our mission have inspired us all. While we will miss her presence dearly, we wish her the very best in retirement.”
Fortini’s career at Florida Citrus Sports spanned two periods, the first coming from 1993 to 1996, when she served as the organization’s marketing director — part of a 20-year run in corporate marketing roles. A Florida State graduate and former Seminoles varsity diver, Fortini then started a successful second act as the owner and operator of a FASTSIGNS franchise in 2005.
After selling the franchise, Fortini returned to Florida Citrus Sports in 2016 as its Senior Director of Operations, overseeing logistics and hospitality around the organization’s tentpole events, including the Pop-Tarts Bowl and Cheez-It Citrus Bowl.
Away from the office, Fortini has served on the Victim Service Center’s board of directors and the Edgewood City Council. She also has an adult daughter, Sydney, and enjoys college sports and cycling.
“As I embark on this new chapter, I’m filled with deep appreciation for the journey that brought me here,” Fortini said. “I’m so grateful for the colleagues who inspired me and the challenges that shaped me at Florida Citrus Sports. Together, we’ve built something truly remarkable, and I’m eager to see our team’s continued impact on the world of sports and beyond.”
