Kevin McDonald Named Chairman Of The Year
Kevin McDonald was named the 2013 Chairman of the Year for his leadership of the Florida Citrus Sports Hospitality Committee. The award was presented during the 2013 Member Celebration presented by BMO Harris Bank and Florida Hospital.
A member since 2009, McDonald stepped in to lead the Hospitality Committee shortly after the passing of longtime chairman (and former FCSports employee) Pat Hoffman. As chair, he conducted the orientation for all hospitality suite volunteers prior to Orlando Bowl Week and confirmed schedules with each volunteer. Each day during bowl week, Kevin visited each of the four team hotels to make sure each VIP and Player Suite was fully stocked and staffed. In addition to dedicating his time, he secured sponsors to provide welcome gifts for the visiting coaches and VIPs, including victory cigars for the winning team.
A former college football player, Kevin appeared in the 1988 Florida Citrus Bowl with the Clemson Tigers against Penn State. He later transferred to and graduated from Alabama before eventually making his way back to Orlando.
His leadership and commitment during Orlando Bowl Week helped contribute to our standard as “The Best Bowl Trip In America” for particpating teams.
