Orlando Harley-Davidson Visits Summer Camp
Orlando Harley-Davidson visited FCSports Summer Camp on Friday, June 26 for an afternoon of demonstrations and education about the business of one of America’s iconic brands. The event, held at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in conjunction with Junior Achivement of Central Florida, covered many different aspects of the motorcycle industry.
Campers watched the award-winning Orlando-Harley Davidson drill team perform, and then rotated through a series of career stations where they learned about the various jobs that make the business such a success. The dealerships management and staff provided interactive insight into sales, service, retail operations, accounting, event planning and marketing, and purchasing. At the end of the event, they were treated to a special presentation on business and entrepreneurialism by Anne Deli, owners of the Orlando Harley-Davidson dealership, one of the largest Harley dealerships in the world.
When Junior Achievement approached us to help out with the Florida Citrus Sports Camp, it took us about one second to say, absolutely! said Deli. Our employees live in this community and believe it is important to give back to it. If we can inspire a group of students to reach for a goal and find a career that can help them be independent, then we have succeeded.
The program, developed from a long-standing relationship with the Florida Citrus Sports Foundation, is one that ties in with Junior Achievements mission to educate students to succeed in the real world.
