Orlando, Fla. – Paris Saint-German F.C. of the French Ligue 1 and Tottenham Hotspur F.C. of the English Premier League will square off at Camping World Stadium on Saturday, July 22 as part of the 2017 International Champions Cup. The match is slated to begin at 8 p.m. EDT and will be broadcasted live on ESPN2.

“It’s exciting to continue the tradition of hosting international soccer at Camping World Stadium,” said Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports. “This is another bigtime event that will deliver economic impact and showcase Orlando to the world.”

The two top-tier international clubs feature some of the world’s top talent including Argentinian national player Angel Di Maria and Uruguayan star Edinson Cavani for Paris Saint-Germain and English stars Harry Kane and Dele Alli from Tottenham.

Cavani leads Ligue 1 in goals so far this season, notching 27 goals through 30 matches so far this season. A Paris Saint-Germain player has taken home the Golden Boot in four of the past five seasons. Spurs star Harry Kane is the defending Premier League Golden Boot winner and has tallied more goals (65) than any other player in the league over the past three seasons including the ongoing 2016-17 campaign.

The two squads’ recent domestic success saw them both qualify for the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League, which saw the Parisians advancing out of the group stage into the round of 16 before bowing out to Barcelona, 6-5 on aggregate. Both squads currently sit in second place of their respective leagues with both leagues set to end in May.

“We’re thrilled that our diverse, world-class city will be hosting some of the world’s best soccer clubs at Camping World Stadium,” added City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “Events like the International Champions Cup bring thousands of visitors to our region, create a huge economic impact and continue to show that Orlando has become the nation’s premier major sports event destination.”

Four-time reigning French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain F.C. returns for a third consecutive year to defend their back-to-back titles in the competition. The Parisians are 6-0-1 in the ICC all-time, including a 3-0 record in last year’s edition that saw them outscore their opponents 10-2. PSG will enter the summer competition off of their Ligue 1 season looking to become only the second team to win five consecutive titles in the league’s history dating back to 1893 (Lyon won seven straight from 2001-2008).

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. will make their first appearance in the United States and Europe edition of the competition having debuted in the Australian edition of last year’s tournament. The Spurs lost both of its matches, falling to Juventus F.C. of the Italian Serie A and Atlético Madrid of the Spanish La Liga.

“We are delighted to be taking part in the International Champions Cup this summer – a competition that will provide our players with ideal preparation for the season ahead and give our passionate US fanbase a unique chance of seeing the team test themselves against top European opposition in their home country.” said Daniel Levy, Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur F.C.

The 2017 International Champions Cup presented by Heineken will run from July 19-30 and feature 12 matches played across 11 cities throughout the United States. Eight clubs from England (Manchester United F.C., Manchester City F.C., Tottenham Hotspur F.C.), Italy (Juventus F.C., AS Roma), France (Paris Saint-Germain F.C.) and Spain (FC Barcelona, Real Madrid C.F.) will compete in this year’s tournament. Each team will play three matches and the team with the most points at the end of the tournament will be crowned champion. Each win in regulation will result in three points and a tie will go straight to a shootout; the winning team in a shootout will receive two points and the losing team will receive one.

“Both Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham have brought excitement to their domestic campaigns through their heightened level of play over the past few years,” said Charlie Stillitano, Chairman of Relevent Sports. “The rapidly growing soccer fan base in Orlando now has the opportunity to see the reigning ICC champs and Tottenham’s star studded roster face off right here in the city beautiful.”
