RBC Bank Feast on the 50 Lights Up the Night
Florida Citrus Sports annual on-field bonanza – RBC Bank Feast on the 50 – took place last night at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium and saw a crowd of over 2,100 come out and ignore the rain to enjoy a night of food, drinks, fun, fireworks and school spirit.
Alumni tents, food vendors, two beer trucks and interactive games for the kids were all a part of the fun.
At RBC Bank Feast on the 50, the winners of the 2nd Annual FCSports Membership Drive were announced. Team Razorback, captained by Leah Latch, followed up on a successful 2008 campaign that saw her team be the only team to have each of its nine members successfully refer new members to FCSports by winning it all in 2009. The team celebrated with champagne and was awarded a $2,000 shopping spree at Best Buy. This year’s recipient of the Membership Drive MVP award was John Lazenby whose referrals earned him a all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas.
A first at Feast on the 50, the silent auction was a rousing success, raising over $15,000 for the FCSports Foundation MVPs.
This year’s award for the top alumni tent went to the fans from the University of Florida. Judging for the competition was conducted by Andrea Adelson of the Orlando Sentinel, Scott Adams of ESPN 1080 and WFTV sports anchor Phil Burton. In the prize drawing, member Michael Braccio won a new laptop as did guest Matt Sens. A new member who joined last night – Justin Bassell — went home with a 50-inch plasma television while another new member, Ed Sackett, won a Wii gaming system.
This year’s event featured four caterers and drinks from City Beverages and Coca Cola. Collins Catering serving Four Rivers BBQ, Arthur’s, Port-a-Pit BarBQ and The Coordinator Inc. all kept people happy while the festivities took place.
The evening closed with the FCSportstacular fireworks show, which can be seen along with other pictures from the night by clicking on the “Photo Album” link at the top of this page.
FCSports would like to thank title sponsor RBC Bank as well as City Beverages and Coca Cola for their support.
