Six Members Recognized As Volunteers Of The Year For 2015-16
On June 16, FCSports recognized other members who gave superlative efforts during the 2015-16 season through its Member Service Awards. The awards were presented as part of the Member Service Awards at the Member Celebration presented by Florida Hospital. Dr. Brian Coleman (Omega Dental Group, P.A.), Joe Doher (Berkshire Hathaway), Chuck Ingram (Estes, Ingram, Foels & Gibb), Greg LeFils (LeFils & Co.), Andrea Rickheim (Florida Hospital), Brian Wagner (Mateer & Harbert) and Rob Yacabucci (2nd consecutive year recognized; Lockheed Martin) have all provided the organization with years of support, both financial and through their significant volunteerism.
Dr. Brian Coleman has referred countless new members to our spring sales receptions at the stadium, a program developed to experience the new stadium renovations and increase memberships. Dr. Coleman serves as on the leadership team for the Team Selection Committee, coordinating game requests and assignments. In addition, Omega Dental Group personally sponsors the annual Florida Blue Florida Classic VIP kickoff reception.
As a member of the Team Support Committee, Joe Doher recruited and managed the crew that hoists our field goal nets after every score during both the Russell Athletic Bowl and the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl. This year, Joe and the crew got quote a workout thanks to record scoring during the Russell Athletic Bowl and a 40+ point offensive performance from Michigan on New Year’s Day! Joe’s commitment ensured everything came off without a hitch.
Chuck Ingram has been a “jack of all trades” throughout his 27 years as a member. He’s always willing to lend a hand, whether it’s helping with our summer youth football clinics, cleaning up after events, donating items for the Foundation raffles or referring new members to the organization. A devoted member of the Team Selection Committee, Chuck engages guests and fans where ever he goes further spreading the mission of Florida Citrus Sports.
For over 10 years, Greg LeFils has served as a host for our game officials and their families. From the moment the referees and replay officials arrive in Orlando, Greg is part of the team that coordinates their entire experience (alongside 2014-15 honoree Ted Ruta).
Andrea Rickheim serves as a team host for the Big 12 conference team in the Russell Athletic Bowl. A second-generation member, Andrea keeps the student-athletes, support staff, coaches and their families on schedule, serving as the staff’s liaison to the team throughout bowl week.
Brian Wagner served as chairman of the Hospitality Committee during bowl week at the team hotels. Brian organized the daily volunteer schedules for the VIP and player suites, assisted the hotel host interns and Orlando Police Lieutenant hosts and helped decorate each suite prior to the teams arrivals. Every night he visited the hotels to ensure volunteers were in place and things were running smoothly, and after the bowl games he helped breakdown each suite.
After serving in a leadership role for our volunteer efforts for several years, Rob Yacabucci became the Volunteer Coordinator for both bowl games and the FSU Spring Football game last season. Rob was responsible for instructing, placing, feeding and managing over 300 volunteers on game day, making sure our fans enjoyed a first-class experience at the stadium.
Florida Citrus Sports is grateful to all of our volunteers and members for their support throughout the year and we’re proud to honor these six special members who have done so much for us this past season.
