Spherion Named Title Sponsor of Orlando Citrus Parade presented by Delta Airlines

Florida Citrus Sports Executive Director Steve Hogan announced today that Spherion Corporation, a leading provider of recruiting, staffing and workforce solutions, has been designated title sponsor for the Orlando Citrus Parade presented by Delta Airlines.

“We are very proud that Spherion will now be a part of the storied tradition of the Citrus Parade and the other great festivities surrounding the exciting bowl week in Orlando,” said Roy Krause, president and CEO of Spherion.

With 660 offices in the United States and Canada, Spherion delivers innovative workforce solutions that improve business performance for more than 8,000 customers, from Fortune 500 companies to a wide range of small and mid-size organizations. Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Spherion employs nearly 300,000 people annually through its network, making it one of North America’s largest employers.

Now known as the Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade presented by Delta Air Lines, this years holiday classic will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007 in Downtown Orlando, with step-off scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

The Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade presented by Delta Air Lines is an annual tradition that has grown to be one of the largest sports-affiliated parades in the nation. This event is distinguished by signature citrus floats parading down a two-mile stretch of downtown Orlando. The floats are made from over 100,000 pieces of citrus fruit attached by over 500 volunteers which include oranges, tangerines and grapefruits, with assembly taking place over a three-day period.

The addition of Spherion as title sponsor, a company committed to service excellence, begins an exciting new chapter for this great event, said FCSports Executive Director Steve Hogan. When an international audience tunes in to watch this year’s event, we will be proud to display the Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade name.

The parade also features a celebrity grand marshal to be announced (last years was Academy Award winner Marlee Matlin), bands from across the nation and other family entertainment. More than 80,000 fans are expected to line the parade route.

The Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade presented by Delta Air Lines will be one of three signature FCSports events that take place during a week filled with bowl festivities. It is flanked between Orlandos two college football bowl games — the Champs Sports Bowl (Friday, Dec. 28) and the Capital One Bowl (Tuesday, Jan. 1). Official team bands from schools participating in the games will perform in the parade.

Last year, the syndicated broadcast of the parade co-hosted in 2006 by Jane Robelot and Chris Harrison, host of ABCs The Bachelor — was televised in over 150 markets nationwide as well as Canada. This year, the broadcast will branch out to include the United Kingdom.
