Game Dates & Kickoff Times Set for Florida Citrus Sports Bowl Games

ORLANDO – Game dates and kickoff times for Orlando’s Cheez-It Bowl and Vrbo Citrus Bowl games were announced Thursday as part of ESPN’s 2021-22 college football schedule release. Both games are scheduled to take place in their traditional postseason windows.

The 2021 Cheez-It Bowl, featuring top teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference and Big 12 Conference, will take place Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 5:45 p.m. ET at Camping World Stadium and will be broadcast on ESPN. This will be the second bowl season with Cheez-It as the game’s title sponsor.

At last year’s game, Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders earned Cheez-It Bowl MVP honors as the No. 21 Cowboys defeated the 18th-ranked Miami Hurricanes 37-34.

The 2022 Vrbo Citrus Bowl will be played at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 1 at Camping World Stadium and will mark the 75th anniversary of the inaugural Tangerine Bowl game on Jan. 1, 1947. The matchup will pit the Southeastern Conference against the Big Ten Conference and will be televised on ABC.

In last season’s Vrbo Citrus Bowl, the Northwestern Wildcats beat the Auburn Tigers 35-19 with Northwestern quarterback Peyton Ramsey taking home game MVP honors.
