One week from today, a Central Florida tradition returns to Downtown Orlando when the Florida Citrus Parade winds down Orange Avenue and back up Rosalind Avenue on its way to Lake Eola Park. A strange thing happened after last year’s Rose Bowl game. Thousands of fans from the losing side didn’t want to leave. That’s not routine at 123 of the 124 NCAA Football Subdivision schools. The South Carolina Gamecocks will play the Wisconsin Badgers in the 2014 Capital One Bowl. The 68th edition of the New Year’s Day classic will be played on January 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium and will be televised nationally by ESPN on ABC. Players and coaches from Nebraska and South Carolina met at DisneyQuest for Day for Kids, a charity event with the Florida Citrus Sports Foundation. The Cornhuskers and Gamecocks took time out of their Capital One Bowl preparations to spend some time with disadvantaged children from around Central Florida.
