The Florida State Seminoles and Notre Dame Fighting Irish football teams met on friendly terms today at Give Kids the World Village as part of Orlando Bowl Week. Take Stock in Children of Orange County held its annual ceremony today, recognizing incoming and returning students at Valencia Community College’s West Campus on Thursday, February 3. On Wednesday, July 28, Florida Citrus Sports hosted a free youth football clinic in partnership with NCAA Football’s Youth Initiative. Held in the shadow of the Citrus Bowl as installation of the new AstroTurf field continued, the clinic featured coaches and players from UCF, the University of West Georgia, and Jacksonville University, as well as local professional players from the Arena Football League’s Orlando Predators and the United Football League’s Florida Tuskers. The Orlando Police Department G.R.E.A.T (Gang Resistance Education And Training) Program and Florida Citrus Sports partnered again this summer to sponsor a fantastic sports camp attended by over 250 disadvantaged youth ages 10-15. Florida Citrus Sports Chief Executive Officer Steve Hogan announced today that the FCSports Foundation has made a $1 million donation to help local administrator Valencia Community College bring Take Stock in Children (TSIC) to Orange County. FCSports, the founding partner, has committed to sponsor children for five years in the program at $200,000 per year. Florida Citrus Sports is donating $15,000 to the University of Iowa Flood Relief Fund to assist in renovations needed as a result of over $231 million in flood damage at the university.
