Take Stock in Children of Orange County held its annual ceremony today, recognizing incoming and returning students at Valencia Community College’s West Campus on Thursday, February 3. The Orlando Police Department G.R.E.A.T (Gang Resistance Education And Training) Program and Florida Citrus Sports partnered again this summer to sponsor a fantastic sports camp attended by over 250 disadvantaged youth ages 10-15. Two three-week sessions offer students the opportunity to participate in various sporting events, enhance their computer skills, learn to swim and experience personal growth through a variety of enrichment activities. Florida Citrus Sports Chief Executive Officer Steve Hogan announced today that the FCSports Foundation has made a $1 million donation to help local administrator Valencia Community College bring Take Stock in Children (TSIC) to Orange County. FCSports, the founding partner, has committed to sponsor children for five years in the program at $200,000 per year.
