NC State tops WVU 23-7 in Champs Sports Bowl

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) If this was Russell Wilson’s football finale, he sure made the most of it. Wilson threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns, leading North Carolina State past No. 22 West Virginia 23-7 in the Champs Sports Bowl on Tuesday night. NC State Pep Rally Canceled

Due to inclement weather, the North Carolina State band and cheerleaders will not make it to Orlando in time for tomorrow’s Champs Sports Bowl Pep Rally.  As a result, the NC State portion of the event (5:45-6:30 p.m.) has been cancelled.  Florida Citrus Sports and the Champs Sports Bowl regret the inconvenience.  The band and cheerleaders are scheduled to arrive in time for the game on Tuesday.

West Virginia and NC State to Square Off in 2010 Champs Sports Bowl

Florida Citrus Sports’ Team Selection Committee has selected the NC State Wolfpack and West Virginia Mountaineers to play in this year’s Champs Sports Bowl, the first matchup in the current agreement matching top teams from the ACC and Big East.  Set to take place December 28th from Orlando’s Citrus Bowl Stadium, the game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and be televised on ESPN. Champs Sports Bowl Extends Partnership with Atlantic Coast Conference

Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan and Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford have announced a partnership agreement for the 2010-13 Champs Sports Bowls.
